End of Week 1

My main goal this week was to watch how the money grew during the first week of play. I want to compare this challenge to my other one to see how much of an advantage Pleasantview may have over a newly developed neighborhood. I decided to not send any teen to uni in the first week so it will be eaiser to watch the basic networth.

I'm going to share a brief description of the time I spent with each house on this round. My goals for the family and the outcome.

(In the past, I've only played briefly in the GOTH house and extensively in the Lotherio house and the Broke house. All of the other houses are a mystery to me. )

GOTHS
The house starts with Mortimer who is half way through his elder stage. Cassandra is engaged to Don L. who is visiting the lot. Alexander is a child who is about to age to a teen.

Mortimer is a Knowledge sim. Since that is one of the few IW that can be completed in old age I wanted to really work to complete it (max his skills). If I let him play out his life without elixir he would die of old age before his IW would be completed. So my first goal was to get some elixir, and that WAS a huge challenge (30,000 aspiration points). IT was a race of the clock as time was running out fast. I managed to get the elixir with just one sim day left for him. (boy was that close). He built a loving relationship with Dina C. He never spun up a desire to marry her, so they didn't marry. Marriages will only be traditional, so he will have to spin up that want in order for that union to happen. (my goal and not part of the challenge rules)

Cassandra - Don and Cassandra made out, and talked. (followed their wants) Don, with his smooth talking ways, was able to inspire Cassandra to spin up a want to Woohoo. They strolled up to her bedroom for a nooner (woohoo). Since the "try for baby" option was available I picked it. Mortimer was in his room, just across the hall, during the event. He didn't seem to notice or didn't care. Cassandra is a family sim who is working in the science career track. The week ended with her being engaged to Don but not pregnant. Don doesn't seem to share the same interest in marriage (imagine my suprise..ggg). I'd like to see him spin up the want before the merge will happen.

Alexander - grew to a teen. He is a little stinker of a sim who tends to "hide" his homework all over the place. Sometimes it is upstairs next to his dads desk, sometimes next to the mailbox or near the end of the lot behind a tree. Good thing I followed him the day he stuck it behind the tree. Come nightfall, that would be almost impossible to locate.

This was a very challenging lot. Glad to end the Sim Week of play and move on to the next house.

PLEASANTS
We start with Daniel and Mary-Sue that are 5 days until elder. Angela and Lilith are early teens. My main goal was getting elixir in order to get the two adults more time so they could accomplish the "two different careers" before aging up. Not an easy task, as I need double elixir as well as LOTS of skill building while working on their wants. (geese... I thought this would be easy.... )

Angela and Lilith are constantly fighting with each other (rolling around in dust balls). It is hard to keep them busy and away from each other long enough to get skills, needs, and homework done. They have both been on dates with their maxis established loves.

I tried to get Mary-Sue pregnant from Daniel so hopefully they could have a son to carry on the house's name. So far... it hasn't happened. I kept getting side tracked with wants and have yet to manage this. Those twins are a handful.

I had some bad chance cards that left the household with zero cash on hand. Of course, the maid had to be there. On her way out the door, she took a couple items for her pay. (ROFL... I read that happen to people, but this is the first time it has happened to me. Pretty funny)

LOTHARIO
After the first two houses, this one was a breeze. I can't recall his age, but think he was low level adult. I didn't need any elixir but the energizier came in handy. I spent his first week building skills and relationships. Don is a romance sim. He ended the week with his established 2 loves and 3 woohoo's (Kaylynn, Nina, and Cassandra). He didn't manage any new ones for himself. (sorry Don maybe next week)

CALIENTE
Main goal was just to build friendships and skills for these two lady sims. Nina (redhead) is a romance sim and Dina (blond) is a fortune sim. Dina has her eye set on Mortimer. They had several dates and on one date.... (giggle) Mortimer spun up a want to marry Dina. I locked that one in. When I get back to the Goth house, I'm sure to put that wedding arch to good use.

DREAMER
Start the lot with Darren and his son Dirk. Darren is in love with Cassandra who is in love with Don. Darren is a knowledge sim so could probably make Cassandra happier with her family aspiration. For the marriage to happen, Darren and Cassandra will both have to spin up a want to get married BEFORE Don and Cassandra both spin up the want. Cassandra is engaged to Don so that engagement will have to end prior to the above playing out. Dirk is in love with one of the Pleasant girls. They went on a few dates. Otherwise, nothing really interesting to report.

BROKE
This house was as challenging as I expected it would be. Brandi is an adult living alone with 2 kids and one on the way. Her husband "Skip" seems to have skipped out on her. Playing this house is just maintanance. Trying to keep everyone alive while figure out a way to make some money. Dustin works so his is the only income for the first few days. AFter the birth, Brandi went to a community LOT to earn some money working at a bar. Ended the week with out any aspiration failure, no social worker visits... so all is good.

OLDIE
Both sims are elders so their jobs bring in only scant cash. Herb is Romance while Coral, his wife, is family. With the help of the energizer, they go to the community lot to work in the bar or as a DJ. So far, money isn't as big an issue with this house as it is with some of the HIGH CASH houses. They ended up adopting 5 kids before the end of the first week. I've gone with "child" level since they are lower care. They can also tag along to the community lot with their parents.

BURB
John (family), Jennifer (fortune), and Lucy. I ended this lot with 1 birth and 4 adoptions. 8 sims in a 2 bedroom/1 bathroom house. Main goal was working on needs and skills. As well as juggling the sims in and out of that one bathroom. Interesting time.

No UNI students this round. No one reached the top of their career. No IW or LTW completed. It was a challenging first week at Pleasantview.
